National Committee for POWS and Missing (NCPM)

Sabah Al-Salem Foundation is intricately associated with the National Committee for Missing Persons and POWs, as is the late Sheikh Salem Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. Sheikh Salem, who assumed the Committee's chairmanship in 1992, played a pivotal role in addressing the challenges of missing persons and prisoners of war, making significant efforts on both Arab and international fronts. Sheikh Salem donated the SSF building to serve as the headquarters for handling affairs related to missing persons and POWs. His compassionate goal was to alleviate the difficulties faced by families in this regard. Until his passing in 2008, Sheikh Salem actively monitored developments concerning the committee’s mandate. SSF continued this engagement, supporting the process until the resolution of cases involving disappeared individuals in 2017.
